Himachal Pradesh has a large
hydro potential of the order of
20,000 MW but only a small
fraction i.e.3942 MW has been
exploited so far that too
through large hydro power
projects. There is a potential
of about 750 MW in Micro/Small
hydro power (SHP) sector, out of
this, approximately 645 MW at
431 sites with capacities
ranging from 100 kW to 3 MW has
