Ski Himalayas is a subsidiary of A.Power Himalayas Ltd. It is developing a ropeway-cum ski center in Solang, Manali in H.P. The ropeway is being setup in collaboration with POMAGALSKI – who is a world leader in Cable Transportation Systems (POMA is a company at the leading edge of cable transportation, with 7,500 installations in 69 countries).

The project in a whole is a first privately owned-operated (BooT) project in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a shot in the arm for people linked with Tourism industry / activities in Manali and the state itself.

The company has tie-up with HHS (Himachal Heli Ski) to conduct heli-ski in Manali valley. In co-ordination to this it also holds camp for school children, and people of all ages to conduct skiing teaching courses at their location.

  • Recorded Tourist to Kullu = 19,00,000 persons/year

  • 1st year projected clientage = 25% i.e. 2, 25,000 persons.

  • Project Components = Ropeway, Gandolas, Ski Centre, Ski equipments, revolving restaurant, snow skating rink etc.

The project during summer’s shall cater to the summer tourist as a facility to explore the heights of spectacular Mount PHATRU with a panoramic view of the Pir-Panjal range, Deo Tibba, Bhrighu, Hamta, Famous Patalsu and the enchanting and breath taking view of the Kullu Valley upto Manali. During winter months the project shall not only cater to the Tourist visiting the valley but shall also facilitate the winter games such as SKING, SNOW BOARDING, SLEDGING etc. Installation of such Ropeway system shall be a major milestone for the development of this SKI Slope where the potential has been under utilized for want of such as infrastructure.
